For homeowners who want design guidance during renovation, so their home feels complete, cohesive and works beautifully with their furnishings

About Renovation Design Support

This is a design-led consultant service for homeowners who are renovating and want thoughtful guidance on layout, materials and overall design direction.

This service is suited for clients who are working with a contractor or interior designer, but want help with design concept and material selection so that renovation decisions feel cohesive, considered and aligned with the final look of the home.

Best paired with Full Styling to achieve a well-thought and complete home ready to move in.

  • My role focuses on design intent and conceptualisation, while technical execution remains the responsibility of the appointed contractor.

    This includes:

    • Conceptualising the overall design direction for the home.

    • Guidance on layouts and spatial flow.

    • Proposing design concepts for carpentry and built-ins that pair well with your furnishings.

    • Selection of materials, colours and finishes for tilework, flooring, surfaces and carpentry.

    • Ensuring renovation decisions support furniture and styling plans.

    • Contractor coordination and management.

    • Site supervision or project management related to renovation works.

    • Technical drawings, 3Ds or construction detailing.

    • Lighting, electrical or plumbing plans.

    • Homeowners who are working with a contractor or ID, but need help with design concept and material selections.

    • Homeowners who want renovation choices to align and work harmoniously with the styling vision.

How Renovation Design Support Works

Step 1: Getting Started

We start by understanding your renovation scope and plans together with your space, lifestyle, preferences and styling goals.

You will also send me photos and a to-scale floor plan of your space, existing furniture you want to keep together with your inspo images.

Step 2: Design Direction

Based on your inputs, I will develop a clear design direction for your space, including layout, material, colour, hardware and finish recommendations.

Step 3: Material Selection

Once the design direction is confirmed, we will go shopping to select materials such as tiles, laminates, countertop finishes, flooring, knobs and handles.

Step 4: Ongoing Communication Support

I will work closely with your appointed contractor or ID to ensure that the design intent, concept and materials selected are communicated clearly to them. Your contractor or ID is responsible for handling the project management, timelines, technical drawings and renovation works.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. This service does not replace an interior designer. It focuses on design concept without technical drawings, 3Ds or renovation project management. This service is especially helpful if you are working directly with a main contractor or an ID who focuses more on project management and execution.

  • I do not manage your contractor or supervise renovation works. However, I will work with your contractor closely by communicating the design intent and concepts, support with problem-solving and ensuring that the outcome is as per what was discussed.

  • E-Styling focuses on furnishing and styling direction only and is a fully virtual service.

Full Styling completes the design through sourcing, purchasing and on-site styling.

Both are focused on refreshing spaces through decorative styling and loose furnishings.

Renovation Design Support focuses on supporting renovation design decisions through material selection and concepts for kitchen, bathrooms and built-in carpentry.

  • I create warm, modern and eclectic homes that feel personal, lived-in and full of character.

I tend to introduce colour, texture and contrast, often curating a mix of styles to keep things fresh but cohesive.

I focus on keeping things balanced, not too minimal and not overly cluttered, preferring a mix of materials that feels both stylish and soulful.

  • While an interior designer handles the technical and structural aspect of renovation, a home may still feel incomplete without the right furnishings. This is where many homeowners find themselves having decision fatigue without the right guidance and know-hows on choosing furniture that fit, both in proportion and style.

As an interior stylist, I am able to help with both the design direction of your renovation and the overall styling of your space (including the nitty gritty of logistics) so that your home feels both cohesive and complete. This gives you peace of mind so that you can enjoy the journey of watching your home come to life.

  • Ideally 1.5 to 2 months before your renovation begins. This ensures sufficient time to understand your needs and confirm the styling direction, which will guide all material choices from the start.

It also allows time for thoughtful decision-making, without feeling rushed.

  • Pricing for Renovation Design Support varies depending on scope and level of involvement. As every renovation is different, fees are confirmed after understanding your renovation plans and requirements. Please get in touch for a custom quote.

  • I take on a collaborative approach with my clients, taking time to understand how you live and what matters to you before making recommendations. The more context you share, the more accurately I can guide decisions that work for your space.

Rather than overwhelming you with options, I narrow choices down carefully and explain the reasoning behind them to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

At its core, my approach is built on trust, respect and open communication. I design with my clients, not just for them. The goal is not to impose a fixed aesthetic, but to create a spaces that feels intentional, personal and aligned with the way you live.
